Cottia is a writer, director, self-shooter and editor with experience in film, music videos and commercials.

 

After extensive work in script development for film and TV, Cottia completed a filmmaking MA at the London Film School, and has since been developing her portfolio as a film director. Currently working on short format pieces and music videos, her focus is developing her first feature.

 

Influenced by much European cinema, from the likes of; Claire Denis, Milos Forman, Maren Ade and Jacques Audiard, it is the depth of characterization in film that appeals - the potential to make others' experiences so intimately relatable. Whether it's the dark humour of Toni Erdmann, the delicacy of the relationships in 35 Shots of Rhum, or the ruthless desire in Paris, 13th District, these raw explorations of human behaviour are the essence of powerful cinema.
